I will edit this website properly later, but right now I am sitting at my gate in Shanghai airport and I can see boats moving on the East China Sea. It feels very surreal to be in China. I am more scared than excited, but more tired than scared. I'm not sure I've ever been this far from home before, certaintly not by myself. When I was walking through the airport I kept wishing that I had somebody with me. The language barrier is one of my main concerns as it makes me feel very isolated when I struggle to express myself. The language is so different and I severely doubt my ability to pick it up. I wish I had slept more on the plane.
